Audeze LCD-X Review 2026: Pro-Level Planars for Mixing

If you walk into a professional studio in 2026, you are likely to see a pair of Audeze LCD-X sitting on the desk. They have become the industry standard for pro-level, analytical, planar-magnetic headphones. Why Are They So Good? Imaging and Detail: You can hear the position of a compressor, the subtle changes in vocal EQ, and the smallest imperfections in a mix. Frequency Response: They are tuned to be incredibly flat and neutral, which is exactly what a mixing engineer needs. Planar Bass: Just like all Audeze headphones, the bass here is fast, textured, and punchy. The Trade-off They are heavy. If you aren’t used to the Audeze “brick” feel, your neck will hurt.
